Job Title: Part-Time Painting Subcontractor/Assistant

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and reliable Part-Time Painting Subcontractor/Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in various painting techniques, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. This role involves assisting with residential and commercial painting projects, ensuring high-quality finishes, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Surface Preparation:

    • Assist in preparing surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and applying primer.

    • Fill nail holes, cracks, and joints with putty, plaster, or other fillers.

  2. Painting:

    • Apply paint, varnish, stains, enamels, or lacquers to walls, ceilings, and other surfaces using brushes, rollers, or spray guns.

  3. Maintenance of Tools and Equipment:

    • Clean and maintain painting tools and equipment.

    • Ensure all materials are stored properly and safely disposed of.

    • Have your own basic painting tools (paint brushes, 5 in 1, drill, etc)

  4. Safety and Compliance:

    • Follow all safety protocols to create a safe work environment.

  5. Customer Interaction:

    • Communicate with clients in a professional manner to understand their needs and expectations.

    • Forward any questions or concerns clients may have during and after the project to project manager.

  6. Project Assistance:

    • Support lead painters as needed and take direction well.

    • Help set up and break down job sites, including moving furniture and covering surfaces.

  7. Quality Control:

    • Inspect finished surfaces for quality and touch-up any imperfections.

    • Ensure all work meets company standards and client specifications.

Qualifications:

  • Previous painting experience is preferred.

  • Basic knowledge of painting techniques and materials.

  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

  • Strong attention to detail and precision in work.

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Physical stamina and the ability to work on ladders or scaffolding.

  • Some carpentry experience helpful

  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Working Conditions:

  • Flexible part-time hours, with potential for permanent work upon observatory period. (3 month minimum)

  • Primarily indoor work, but may include some outdoor projects depending on the season.

  • Ability to lift heavy objects and perform tasks that require physical exertion.
